Bijou Market

Remember my good friend Emily?  Well, a couple of days ago she invited me to go to the Bijou Market with her.  I'd never heard of it, but spending time with Emily is always a good idea, so I said "Sure!"  Well, let me just say it was well worth the hot, hot weather currently going on outside.

On the drive over Emily and I chatted about how sad and pathetic so many craft fairs are in Utah.

"Everyone makes the same things!" we said.
"There's never anything new!" we said.

Ha.

By far, the classiest handmade market I have been to in quite some time.  Hats off to you, Bijou Market.  You impressed me with your high quality items.  You tempted me with all of your beautiful and original prints.  You almost convinced me to buy something.  But I thought of the look I knew I'd see on Bryan's face if I did and I held strong.  And the fact that you were in a picturesque little orchard made even the things I had seen before seem fresh.  What a refreshing handmade experience.

Want a peek?

I loved all these big, pretty pillows from Modern Thread.  At least I think that's who makes them.  They didn't have a business card for me to take and the picture I took of their tag came out real blurry.  Sorry!  But I think that's who makes them.

Adorable bows from Emily Sparks.  Love those bow ties.  If Olivia was an Oliver I just might have been tempted enough to buy one.

Okay, so we've probably all seen these before, but I love them.  And I love their display.  Don't you?  You can find them at Wendy and Peter.

This mirror wasn't for sale.  I just love it.  And I love that half of Emily is in it.  Oops!  Sorry Em!  :)  Oh, and sorry to the vendor.  I don't remember which booth this was in.

Loved this Autumn Dame display.  So fresh and pretty and deep purpley.  The items she sells are pretty are pretty too.

This is what I almost bought.  These three prints for $20 from Green Lily Designs.  What a steal!  I eventually had to walk away.  But not before chatting with designer Amy Robinson for a while.  Such a sweet, down-to-earth lady.  So fun to chat with.  She's the kind of person that could never feel like a stranger.  Anyway, my birthday is coming up.

More adorable, fresh, fun pillows.  These ones from Annily Green.  Also, can I please have that little chair?

A sweet little pouch, more rockin' pillows, and these awesome little baby moccasins (Marae-- you know I wanted to buy these for you.) from Freshly Picked

Pretty, simple, lovely, the-kind-I-wouldn't-hate-to-look-at-everyday (and I definitely mean that as a compliment) prints from Heather Mildenstein of Kantan Designs.  Of course the last one makes me think of Dorothy

Super super yummy yummy jam from Anne Made.  Saying that it's as good as it looks would be, well, and understatement.

These earrings make me wish I had pierced ears.  For reals.  From Jelley Design

Awesome state-loving prints from {q.a.} Design.  The Utah one makes me a little happier to be living here.  A little.

Awesome custom portrait paintings.  And other paintings.  Contact info in the photo above.

And, lastly, but certainly not leastly, these super great rings from Hop Tree.  I want one.  And I never want jewelry.  That is saying something.  Something nice.  I think it would go nicely with one of these, don't you?

We had a great time at the Bijou Market!  I hope you enjoyed the little online tour here.
Have a nice evening!

How did you know that I totally wished I could have been there and was so curious as to what was at the market? Thank you! And, I just blogged about your sweet gifts to Anne and me. Thanks for those!
