Hey everybody. So I know that most of you come here looking for fun crafty things to make and do. But I know a lot of us struggle with our weight and trying to have a healthy body. I just wanted to let you know, in case you didn't, that I also have a blog called The Skinny where some of my friends and family and I post regularly about our health goals and what we're doing to achieve them.
I weighed 170 pounds back in December, 4 months after Olivia was born. I guess I kept telling myself that it was okay since I had just had a baby. But it wasn't okay. I was overweight. Based on the size of my little frame, 170 pounds was too much. I had a good friend who had just started an inspiring weight loss blog called FAT CHANCE. I felt so proud of her and so inspired by her. And so I decided to make a change and work toward a healthy weight. But then I got to thinking and realized that if I was going to put all this work into being healthy, I might as well try to work toward being healthy and having my body look more like I've always hoped it will. Now don't worry. I'm not about to start talking to you about lipo or something. I just wanted to feel skinny.
So I switched from my original goal weight of 135 pounds to 125 pounds. Ahh! 125 pounds! It still sounds a little crazy to me. I can't remember the last time I was that small. And I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there. When I weighed myself yesterday I weighed 139.4 pounds. (And if you want to know a little secret, when I weighed myself today I weighed 138.4 pounds! Woot woot!) So, as of yesterday, I've lost 31 pounds so far. What a lot!
How? No gimmick. No weight loss pill. No tricky diet. Just discipline in what I eat (haha--sometimes) and steady exercise. And a lot of support and advice from my friends and family. We're all just regular people who write over at The Skinny, but we're all improving. If you've been feeling a little stuck at an unhealthy weight I hope you'll come on over and join us at The Skinny. We're all just nice and supportive. And everyone is welcome, no matter your size--big or small. After all, even being too skinny can be unhealthy too. We've all got things we could improve on.
