Bowing Out

So guess who's made for competition?  Not me.  My "Best Bow Ties" won me last place in this past week's contest theme of "chess."  But that's not why I've decided to withdraw from the competition.  Well, I guess it's part of it, but only in the sense that if I had gotten in any higher I would feel more of a sense of duty (and ego, probably) to stay.  But since I conveniently got last place this week it made the decision to withdraw really easy.

As I think you all know from a post I wrote earlier, I failed to read the fine print and wasn't aware that all five contestants would be staying in for all five weeks.  This is cool.  Except that the next few weeks around here are going to be mega busy and action-packed.  So I've decided to bow out as gracefully as possible and just quit while I was in last place anyway so it would all be fair for the remaining four contestants.  My sincere apologies to Heidi who's running the contest, the remaining four contestants, and most especially to whoever would have made it into the competition if I hadn't gotten in.  But sometimes we make decisions without enough information.  Or without thinking through all the information.  And this was one of those times for me.  Sorry!

I'm excited to see what the other four contestants come up with for the remaining weeks!  And I'm excited for all the fun going on around here in the weeks to come, especially knowing that I'll be just a little less busy with blogging and able to enjoy all these fun times ahead just that much more.  Thanks everyone for understanding!  And thanks to all of you who voted for me!  It was nice.  :)

Oh, and for those of you who I know will ask, I'll post the tutorial for the Best Bow Ties soon... hopefully.  I've got all the pictures taken, but I've got to sit down and write the actual tutorial.  And Olivia is getting more and more mobile in her scooting techniques (my baby refuses to crawl, thinks she's too good for it).  So you know what that means?  Less time for me to sit down and write uninturrupted.  But I do have every intention of posting it soon.  Along with another fun and ultra-simple tutorial.  So if you haven't seen two tutorials up on here in the next couple of weeks, feel free to bug me about it.

Okay, that's all.  Goodnight!

I thought the bow ties were awesome and I VOTED for you.

Just in case the drama and meanness that accompanied this little adventure got to you too....

I want to give you some words of love...I think what you did was amazing, cute, and that you are one talented girlie.

Those are so cute! I'm excited to see a tutorial. And hopefully I can figure out how to make it for adult sizes. My brother, dad, and Richard would all love those! They love bowties!

Wisdom is good, and a big part of wisdom is knowing limits, and knowing when to say when. Good for you. I'm still working on that - hoo boy, I always take on too many projects. Who's the cute little model for the bow ties?
