Happy Birthday Alison!
It was a fun little party. We ate chicken curry and then cake and ice cream. Then we played "Life." By the way, it takes way longer with six people than it does with two. Who knew? Anyway, Alison's friend won. Not me. I almost won. But didn't. But I'm over it. Then they took group pictures in a way only freshman girls can and then Bryan drove them all home. It was a fun night with a lot of fun girls. Fun girls who truly do squeal. And giggle. And text. Wow. Oh the world of texting that I hope I never understand. I'm only 24 and I already feel a generation gap coming on. I felt a little old and lame. Perhaps I am. Although, in my defense, I never had the equivalent of a Justin Bieber poster up on my wall even when I was a freshman in college. Obviously Alison is already cooler than I ever was.
We love having her close now that she's out here at school and we're so glad we could celebrate her birthday with her. It's strangely quiet now that she and her friends are gone. Come back soon! And, of course, Happy Birthday!
