I ran out of storage space. Not storage space in my tiny apartment. Storage space in Blogger. Well, technically it's storage space in Picasa, but not having storage space in Picasa means not being able to upload pictures into Blogger. I didn't even know that was possible, but I found out it was today, right when I was in the middle of uploading pictures for a long-long-long-overdue Parade of Homes post for you all to enjoy. I had uploaded about 77 of the 118 pictures (don't judge) when the photo uploading box transformed into a mean grouchy "you used up all your picture storage space in Picasa and now your life is terrible and your blog will be terrible and turn to mush so you can kiss all those dreams of being cool goodbye" box. It was a sad moment. And it was a sad moment every time I tried again, thinking maybe it would forget that I had used up an entire gigabyte of storage on just pictures for my blog.
The alternative is to pay $5 a year for an extra 20 GB of storage in Picasa. $5? Five dollars? FIVE DOLLARS? ...EVERY YEAR? It seems totally out of the question for something that had previously been free of charge. But when Bryan came home and I told him the sad news he said, "Five dollars a year isn't bad, Katie." So I splurged and bought the extra plot of land in cyber space. Sadly, the whole thing could take up to 24 hours to process, so this may be a sad and lonely spot of pictureless darkness for a couple of days. I hope you'll stick with me through this unexciting and text-dominant time. It should all be over soon. I hope.
But I'm curious... has anyone else run into this problem?
UPDATE: Yay yay yay! It works again! Celebration giveaway tomorrow. Don't be late. You won't want to miss this.
