I bought a watch

It's true.  I bought a watch.  A nice little cheap-but-I-like-it one for $15 at the big T.  I have a cooler watch, but I needed a different one (not to mention, one that the back hasn't fallen off of).  Why not just use the clock on my cell phone like I've been doing for years?  Because I can't have it on me.  Why?

Because I got a job.

You may not hear me say much more about it here, but in case I am actually able to keep up with that, my family, and my blog and shop, I just want you all to be appropriately impressed.

Do I think this is the right thing for our family right now?
Yes.

Do I feel sad thinking about leaving
this kid for a few hours each day?

Yes.

But do I trust that she's having a blast at home with her Daddy?

Absolutely.

Would I trust her in the hands of kangaroos?

Maybe not.

(Though they are funny.)

I know this post will probably leave some of you with a lot of questions.  But I think it's important not to talk about employment on a personal blog.  So I won't be talking about where I work or too much about why I've chosen not to stay at home with Bolivia for now.

But I will say this:  We are fine.  There's nothing to worry about.  Bryan is still starting optometry school in the fall.  This is just a part of that process.  I hope you won't judge me and my family.

And I hope you'll cherish every moment at home with your kids.  :)

Congrats on finding a job! It's not always easy, particularly in this economy. I'm sure that it will be hard at first, but it will probably be really great for Brian and Olivia to spend time together. He'll likely get increasingly busy as he gets into school and starts a career, so this could turn out to be a really great chance for him to spend one on one time with his daughter. Good luck!

I think you should trust kangaroos more. Don't be a hater.

This is the best time you can possibly have to get a job! When else can leave your kid for a while every day and she's still in the hands of her parents??? It's great. Of course this isn't the case with everyone working, but I bet they'd all prefer they were in your situation while they worked.

My husband watched little J while I did my student teaching, and I realized that even though I was working a full-time job at a school (EARLYYY) hours, I was only missing 2 hours a day of the little dude being awake! But it was hard work working at school and then coming home to work, work, work!!

By the way, my hubs has been looking for a job for 3 months now, and nothin! So, feel blessed that you fell upon such great fortune!
