About a month ago I couldn't sleep. I laid in bed for hours, just thinking. And this is what I was thinking about.
A monthly night of creative fun for free!
Now, a month later, my little dream is about to come to fruition. Tonight, somewhere around 30 ladies will pile into their cars and head over here.
I'll be teaching them how to make Simple Bows (tutorial coming soon) and then everybody will get to make two--one to keep and one to share.
And, because I really love to eat good food, but don't like to make it, I have conned everyone into bringing super yummy treats to share. By promising that there will be prizes. For the best. Mmmm.
And the prizes? Oh, they are coveted. My good friend stopped by the other day and, when she saw the basket of prizes, she tried to stuff it under her shirt. The whole basket.
Want to see what's in there? Let's take a peek in the basket and talk about the people I have conned into giving some of their goodies away for free this month...
This sweet little headband is in my house right now. So far, I have resisted the temptation to steal it. ...So far.
This shop is run by my freshman roommate. She is awesome--funny and stylish and super nice. Her entire shop is just full of classic style. And, this has nothing to do with her shop, but her baby does a pretty good impression of Voldemort. Check it out, yo.

Noelle is a photographer. And her husband goes to school with my husband. She is super nice. And I could not be happier about having conned her into taking some photos of the event tonight. And giving away a free mini session to one of our guests.
Seriously love this pattern. I've made it like ten times.
Abby is awesome, guys. And I know a lot of you probably already read her blog, but have you tried her patterns yet? I've had the opportunity to be a pattern tester for her Ruby Lou Doll and her Mommy & Mia Apron patterns. Both were just fun projects to sew and I can wholeheartedly add my stamp of approval to both of them. I'm sure her quilt patterns are just as wonderful.
Richard & Emily on the day they found out they were approved for adoption!
Okay, so Richard and Emily aren't giving away any prizes, really. But they sure are giving their whole hearts to the child they hope to adopt. So when they sent me a few of their adoption cards (like business cards, but with information about their adoption profile), I called and asked Em if she'd send me a few more. Oh, not very many. Just 30. Their sweet little cards are going out into tonight's Brown Bags. Adoption certainly doesn't run in a straight line. But hopefully, with all our hearts in the right place, it'll help them get one step (or 30 steps) closer to having a child. I love these two so much. I can't even tell you, guys.
Tonight. I am SO stoked.
Now maybe if all of you could just keep a little prayer in your heart that all goes well, that would be great.
Please also feel free to pray that I won't make a complete fool of myself trying to teach 30 women how to sew. Haha!
Now I'm off to add a few more goodies to the prize basket. See ya!
