Color Wonder (and some embroidery floss eye candy)

Up until today, most of my embroidery floss has been living in a tangled mess inside one of my favorite old purses.
I still love the purse, but I don't love the tangled mess.
It was getting downright ridiculous.

Luckily, a ton of the embroidery floss I've picked up from thrift stores or for free from nice friends (thanks, Jenny!) has come with some handy supplies for keeping everything neat and tidy.

So now, instead of the bag of tangles, I get to look at these pretty combinations:

Messing around with color combinations while I was putting the floss away gave me a whole new appreciation for the colors I ordinarily deem "ugly."

Accompanied by some old favorites, the colors that seem ugly alone add beauty to the collection as a whole.

Oh, color, how I adore you.
I'll never ever tire of seeing you in new combinations.

Color, you are wonderful!

The end.

Pretty, pretty. I love how embroidery thread looks when it's organized. Makes me think of these that I saw the other day... http://wildolive.blogspot.com/2009/11/printable-thread-bobbins.html

My daughter and I have the same box, full of every color you can imagine, and it always makes me happy to open it too! Love it!

What a wonderful idea, Katie! Color combinations instead of color families.... I may just have to wrap some floss today :)
