Lala's Dress from My Polo Shirt

Olivia is kind of growing like a weed.  But only in the upward direction.
So most of her dresses that used to be, ya know, dresses have now been re-categorized as shirts.
Which is fine, except that now she's short on dresses.

She still has a few that fit her, but I'm tired of dressing her in them every single Sunday.
So last Sunday before church I took this old polo shirt of mine...

...and turned it into this:

A little funky, maybe, but definitely an improvement on that shirt as a whole.
Those little miniature sleeves get me every time.
How do you have arms that small?

The dress was a fast, easy sew.

Mainly because I didn't have to make up the method of creation.
I followed the how-to in this post on I Still Love You.

While the post isn't really set up in the typical style of a tutorial, Melissa gives plenty of information on recreating the sweet little dress she made for he daughter.

Hmm...
Maybe there's a reason I'm always nervous about sewing with stripes.  :)

The main thing is, Olivia was happy to wear it.
And it's long enough on her!
(With a little room to grow.)

Oh.  And it was...

(wait for it)

...totally free!

Hurrah!
