Double Date

Last night our super good friends Emily and Richard invited us over to their cute house for a double date.

They treated us to some really yummy homemade pizza.
They made two pizzas and we gobbled up both in about five minutes.
Mmmm.  Sooo good.
Wish I had some more right now.

Bry and I contributed by making some yummy molten chocolate cakes.

Okay, actually all we did was bring the ingredients and mix it up.
In their bowl.  With their whisk.

Truth be told, Bryan and I are actually pretty bad at making molten chocolate cake.

So once the easy part mixing was finished, we basically made Emily do the rest.

It's a good thing, too.
Because they turned out beautifully under Emily's carefully trained eye.
All my eyes are trained for is... I don't know.
Something other than perfect molten chocolate cakes, I guess.

Emily and Richard also have Carly, the most adorable dog ever.
She never sits still, so that's why this picture is small and blurry.
But you kind of have to love her anyway.  Look at those eyes!
Despite the fact that she shed black fur all over my white shirt, I love her a lot.  She is so sweet!
Also, she is about the same age as Olivia, but Carly is...

...wait for it...

...potty trained!

Man, Bryan and I are so impressed.  We spent at least a good five minutes telling Emily and Richard how awesome they are for having a potty trained 2 year old.  If only we lived closer so Olivia could learn from Carly.

Seriously, though, guys, I am not a dog person.
But I love Carly.  So, so sweet.

And speaking of sweet, this is how our lovely little molten chocolate cakes turned out.
Mmmmmmmmm.

Basically you mix it up, put it in a ramekin, and let it cook until the outside looks hard but the inside is still secretly gooey and wonderful and delicious.

Then you top it with whipped cream, of course.

And eat it all up, of course.

Before/during/after dinner and dessert we also played board games.
Bryan and I love a good board game night, but we haven't had a chance to play games with friends since we moved.

Major bummer.

It was so fun to play games with Richard and Emily last night.
Like a fun flashback to our BYU days when we all lived close enough to hang out and do stuff like this all the time.

Although I think back then I was not as terrible at Pirate Dice as I was last night.  Ahem.
At least I redeemed myself by creaming everyone at some speed game we played afterward.
And Emily and I (as always) creamed the boys at a rousing game of team Skip-bo.  So good.

To top the night off, we decided to take a group photo.
You know, document the fact that all four of us were in the same room at the same time again.

Wait... I thought there were four of us?
Dang that self timer.

The most recent group picture of the four of us up until last night was from a Brian Regan show like, a lot of years ago.  And in that picture one of the main focal points is Bryan's white sock.

Heh heh...

Ah!  Look at us all having a great time on the couch, not even posing for a picture and using the self timer or anything!

Aaaand it looks like Carly's out.  Haha.

It was so much fun hanging out with you guys last night!
Thanks so much for having us, Emily and Rishardo!
