Tacky Christmas Tins

I have a confession to make.  I am a total sucker for tacky Christmas tins.

Well, not super tacky.  I guess "vintage" is a better word.  Although I'm not sure I could really categorize my Santa made of sequins (on the left) as being anything but tacky.  But you kind of have to love him anyway, right?

Besides being fun to decorate with, Christmas tins are also perfect for...

...wrapping presents!

Step 1: Open the tin.
Step 2: Put the present inside.
Step 3: Close the tin.

I mean, really, does it get any more simple?

Thrift stores are a treasure trove of tacky awesome vintage Christmas tins this time of year.  They usually run about $.25 to $1.00.  Not bad, in my opinion.  Especially since you can use them again and again!  And decorate with them!

Anybody else in on the Christmas tin fetish?

Or, if Christmas tins aren't your thing, feel free to browse through these other fun reusable gift wrap ideas from last year.

You can also find more gift wrap ideas on the Tutorials page.

Happy wrapping!

I love Chrismas tins too! Last year I spray painted mine to wrap gifts.

Nice. I was just at Goodwill. I didn't pick up any Christmas tins, but I did pick up some other things for gift giving...and I picked up brown craft paper at Wal-Mart for trying out some new wrapping ideas.

I have this problem too! I got a bunch from Goodwill for a dollar. A dollar! The only problem is, some of the price stickers are impossible too remove. That kind of looks tacky. LOL!
