So, we will now (hopefully) be the proud new owners of a Canon Rebel XSi... okay it has a really long title. You can try to read the entire title here on Amazon.
The good news about this camera is that it was only $300* (a whopping $15 cheaper than the Nikon D40 that apparently did not want to come to a nice cozy happy home here after all) and it also comes with what appears to be a pretty decent starter lens.
*In case you're confused by that price tag, we bought it used in very good condition, not brand new in brand new condition.
The bad news is that, since we ordered it tonight and not last week, it's not supposed to arrive until sometime in late January to early/mid February. Boo hoo.
As for the whole Canon/Nikon debate, I really don't know enough about one or the other to care that much which one I get. I've heard such good things about both that I figure I'll be happy with whichever one decides to actually get shipped and arrive on my doorstep one day.
(I'm thinking hopeful thoughts about this one. Probably the seller is a really proactive person who is even going to go the extra mile and put it in the mail tomorrow so that it will magically arrive Monday or Tuesday or something wonderful like that.)
Good karma, good karma.
Maybe if you have room in your prayers tonight for something really ridiculous and unnecessary, you can pray that my camera will come soon... really really soon.
