Stormy Weather in the Eastern US Right Now (So Scary)

You can't tell from these pictures (that are a little grainy because they were taken on my iPod), but there is stormy weather out here right now and it is scary.  Please keep the Eastern United States in your prayers tonight.  There are going to be a lot of people without power.  A lot of trees falling.  Tornadoes.  (Though they're not supposed to come our way, thank goodness.  I hope.)  There have already been reports of ping pong ball sized hail (update: golf ball sized) and huge trees falling down and thousands without power.  These storms are so scary.

Bryan just came down while I was writing this and told me that the rain is almost gone here already.  Thank heavens.  But I know this storm is much, much worse elsewhere.  There will surely be terrible stories to come.  So please pray for those in the path of this storm.  It's much less scary in the comfort of our own home (especially since we have a basement and we still have power right now), but I'm sure there are thousands of people out driving in it and it is hellishly scary.  I know.

Mom, please stop praying that we'll move back west.  These storms just might be convincing enough.

Sigh.  Anyway.  Weather can be so scary and so fickle.  Think happy, hopeful thoughts for the thousands who are living that reality right now.

And, on a happier note...

It's Bryan's birthday today.  26 on the 26th!  A golden birthday to remember.

I live in northern WV (near PA) and they have been saying it's going to be horrible all day...BUT it's sunny, with a slight breeze...and hot as can be. I think everyone might be a little gun shy after the last storm that tore through unexpectedly...and hopefully this wont be a huge disaster!

Also, I just wanted to Thank YOU for sharing your preschool routine, you inspired me to start with my son...and although sometimes I ask him if he wants to do school, he says no, but sometimes he says yes...and you are so right, it only takes 20-30 minutes. It's been really great to have some 1 on 1 time together that is educational. {And to tie it in to THIS post, I also added weather to the routine...}

Yep, we have those storms too. For the first time in my life I have a strong motivation to keep our 72 hour kit updated and to have food storage in the basement (and to actually have both of those things).

PS Happy birthday Bryan!

But you should still move to Wisconsin. That way we can hide from the storms together and play Ticket to Ride while the kids run around. :)

We desperately need some of that rain here... but with power.

Haha...yeah Texas has some major storms up from the gulf that make you want a basement *isn't it ironic how we can't have them here where we desperately need them?*

Happy Birthday Bry Bry! I wish you lived closer because I got that game for Christmas and we've still never played it...Hope your gets a trip out of the box soon! :)

Your storm post just made me want to update my 72 hour kits soon! I went through them yesterday, and most stuff expired in 2009. So I need to start all over. This is my motivation! Thanks!
