Valentine's Day on the couch

I've said before that the more my heart is full, the less likely I am to get on and post. Well, my heart has most certainly been full these past couple of weeks, hence the semi-quiet blog. But things never feel quite right when I stay away from here or stay quiet too long. So many things happened last week. One super sick little girl and something big and exciting in the works.

We celebrated Valentine's Day from the couch where Olivia was throwing up all week. It came on suddenly late Sunday night and continued all the way through Thursday. The poor girl just couldn't keep anything down, not even little sips of water. Tuesday night our pediatrician finally referred us to the ER so Olivia could have some fluids pumped into her through an IV. Wednesday was still hard, Thursday was marginally better, and then Friday--thank goodness--she woke up 100% better.

It was a hard week for all of us in a lot of ways. But a good reminder, too, that I do have my priorities straight after all. Having so much personal time, I often wonder if I do. It was also a good reminder that life is full of surprises, unexpected bumps in the road that we can't always plan for. The next several months are going to be crazy busy for me, but, in many ways, this reminder that I'm not completely in control of everything around me came and exactly the right time.

Sure glad that girl is better now though. Back to talking about robot potties (i.e. toilets that flush automatically) and unicorns and sneaking bites of candy from all the valentines she missed out on last week.

Okay, the mega stress about the big news is kicking in again, so it's time for me to head out and get to work. But I promise I'll come back and let you know what it is as soon as I can. :)

Have a great day! Use a robot potty!

So glad she's feeling better! I hadn't realized she'd been sick for so long. No wonder you've been having fun posting happy Olivia pics on Facebook these last couple days.

Haha - We have robot potties here at the high school, so I'm pretty spoiled. Sometimes when I'm using a non-robot potty, I get surprised that it doesn't flush on its own. :)
